By Train
St. Georgen station (in the Black Forest) on the Black Forest Railway Offenburg < > Konstanz.
There is a bus connection from St. Georgen station to Rohrbach > Schönebach. You travel to the "Brigach-Hirzwald" stop. 100 m above at the forest edge lies NaturFreundeHaus Hirzwald.

From St. Georgen station you can also walk the beautiful hiking trails (approx. 6 km) to NaturFreundeHaus Hirzwald (luggage transfer possible on request) or take the cycle path through the forest parallel to it (see below). Even more beautiful is hiking from Triberg past the waterfalls, but with more elevation gain; this is perhaps more suitable for the departure.
From Freiburg
A good option from Freiburg is to take the S2 to Waldkirch and then the bus across the beautiful Black Forest panorama to Furtwangen. From there, unfortunately, buses to Hirzwald don't run very often, but it's not far to cycle or get a shuttle. Takes under 2 hours in total.
Getting Here
By Bike
Kesselberg is a popular destination for cyclists — on the L175 via Brigach the house is easily accessible. Luggage transport and bike storage available on request.
If you start by bike from St. Georgen station, use the rear exit and then from Rosenweg take the cycle path through the forest via junction 13 and turn right shortly before at the "Hirzwald" sign and ride up beside the meadow. Right behind the highest point is the house.

On Foot
The Mittelweg — a hiking trail of the Black Forest Association (red-white lozenge) — from Pforzheim to Basel leads directly past NaturFreundeHaus Hirzwald (Kesselberg).

By Car
Note: There are only a few parking spaces. Please form car pools or choose environmentally friendly mobility.
Drive on the B33 (Offenburg < > Donaueschingen) to St. Georgen and turn there towards Brigach > Furtwangen (L 175). You drive through the village of Brigach and reach the "Gasthaus Hirzwald" on the left after approx. 4 km. There you turn left and follow (approx. 100 m) the signs to NaturFreundeHaus Hirzwald at the upper forest edge.
